I had a little summer project to try out every sushi restaurant on the peninsula, and Sushi Square was definitely my biggest surprise -- as a newer restaurant opening in the food court my expectations were middling but I was absolutely blown away, great pricing, great taste, quality ingredients, AND a good combo menu, everything I want from a sushi restaurant. They also have a unique take on the tempura flakes in a spicy salmon roll that I really like. If you like the local styles of sushi you see in Halifax, I'd say this is a perfection of the form. (Never been to Japan so I can't speak to the authenticity)

(I gave it a 5 for atmosphere because their stall looks nice but obviously it is in a food court so I wouldn't eat in as a fancy date)

Today is my birthday, so we decided to celebrate it with a sushi lunch / dinner at sushi square in Halifax, the Salmon sushi and Sashimi were so fresh and tasty, so was the Unagi sushi and the California rolls, having been to Japan many times, I can say with confidence that the quality and the pleasant service is almost at par.

Tonight we decided to have somethings light so I ordered food from sushi Square at Scotia Square, Food Court.
I had beef udon and my husband has sashimi bento. The beef was very tasty and with lots of veggies, very comfortable and delicious.
The bento was very fresh with 12 pieces of fish. It also came with 2 mini spring rolls. Very generous portions.

This place is so underrated and so insanely fresh and delish. I want to gatekeep it, but it deserves all the flowers. Fish is so tender and the yam roll is so crunchy. I dream of the mumford roll at least once a week

This place is incredible. Unbelievably, it tops all of the fancy dine in sushi restaurants that I've eaten at over the years. I'd consider moving to Halifax for the firecracker rolls, quite honestly.
The food tastes extremely fresh and flavourful, and the staff are friendly.

My wife and I have been eating sushi at various cities we've travelled to over the past 15 years. Do not be deterred due to the location being in the mall, this is the best sushi we've ever had!

Everything was so fresh, pricing was amazing for the portions, and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

In the future, we will be going out of our way to eat here again when in the area!
